Jack Black gets nutty on Yo Gabba Gabba. (Here, sans camel toe.)We all know TV is NOT recommended for kids under 2, right? Right? At least, that’s what the American Academy of Pediatrics has been mandating for the last few years. That doesn’t actually stop parents from letting their little ones watch TV. Heck, Kavya gets plenty of small screen exposure, given the fact that I make my living working from home in my pajamas, writing mostly about TV. It can’t be helped.
In fact, lately, at 9 months old, I’ve noticed she pays …

Nearly five years ago, before mortgages and babies and all that comes with them, like Elizabeth Gilbert and her big screen counterpart Julia Roberts, I had an Eat Pray Love experience of my very own.

Welcome to the Online Home of Sona Charaipotra

TweetA New York City-based writer and editor with more than a decade’s worth of experience in print and online media, I’ve written for the New York Times, People, TeenPeople, American Way, ABC News, Premiere, Modern Bride, The Daily Beast, and other major national publications. With a fat rolodex of entertainment contacts, well-honed reporting, writing and editorial skills and a knack for project (and people!) management, I’m the girl to call for celebrity scoop and poignant profiles. But I can also pull together a quick personality-driven gift guide, round up real women’s recession-busting financial tips, blog …

Tweet WHO WILL BE THE NEXT FOOD NETWORK STAR?
Happy to report that season five of the Next Food Network Star kicks off June 7th.
With four contestants from LaLaland, it would seem California cuisine is in this season.
Sadly, there isn’t much diversity in this bunch — the majority are white, though we’ve got a Korean-American celeb caterer and an African-American personal chef whose specialty is Caribbean cuisine.
Oddly, it seems the network is hoping to cash in on the popularity of last season’s quirky-cute runner-up Adam Gertler — two of the All-American …

TweetATTENTION TWILIGHT FANS!
Over on the MTV Movies Blog today (or right here, for your viewing pleasure), Twilight fans can nab a first look at the official poster New Moon, the adaptation of the second book in the series. The film is due November 20, 2009, almost exactly a year to release of Twilight.

As Twilighters will quickly realize, the poster highlights the growing tension between Bella’s pal Jacob Black and Edward, the swoonworthy vampire she’s fallen head-over-heels for.
New Moon introduces Jacob Black on a deeper level — and this book …

You’ve commented that Jessica Alba, who had her daughter Honor Marie two days before you had Stella, was back in her pre-baby body two weeks after giving birth, while you could barely move. Did you feel pressure after your pregnancy ended to be physically perfect?
When I wrote Mommywood I was still losing my baby weight, so when I talked about the pressure, yes, it was very much there. It took [Jessica Alba] two weeks to get back to her pre-baby …

With a new memoir on parenting, the TV scion turned reality star dishes on her feud with her mother, Candy, her kids’ love of paparazzi, and her return to 90210.
Tori Spelling has survived a lot longer than most people thought she would. After a decade on her father’s young-adult juggernaut, Beverly Hills, 90210, she, like the rest of the teen-idol cast, spent a decade in relative oblivion. But then something changed—not in Tori, but in pop culture. TV veered sharply into high-drama, …

TweetIn which our heroine, Tori Spelling, balances raising two kids under two, a reality show, a clothing line and a triumphant return to her old zip code.
This week I interviewed Hollywood scion Tori Spelling for The Daily Beast. Spelling — best known as Donna Martin from Beverly Hills, 90210
– has managed to make a solid career for herself despite making a
tabloid splash three years ago when then then-married had a
home-wrecking affair with equally- married TV movie costar Dean
McDermott.
Despite the fallout, she and Dean wed, created a hit reality …

This week, you can check out a short piece I wrote about Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles for American Way.
I have to admit, the whole time I was interviewing the boys, all I could think about was — steak.
Perhaps it has something to do with Ackles own particular brand of
Texas-drawl smooth-talking. “Oh, you’ve got to check out Nick and Sam’s
steakhouse in Dallas,” he told me, and I could practically hear him
drooling. “I get as big as a filet as I possibly can, some steak fries
and maybe …
