TweetATTENTION TWILIGHT FANS!
Over on the MTV Movies Blog today (or right here, for your viewing pleasure), Twilight fans can nab a first look at the official poster New Moon, the adaptation of the second book in the series. The film is due November 20, 2009, almost exactly a year to release of Twilight.
As Twilighters will quickly realize, the poster highlights the growing tension between Bella’s pal Jacob Black and Edward, the swoonworthy vampire she’s fallen head-over-heels for.

Twilight fans, known for dissecting every little detail of the film on the web, are no doubt salivating over the first look at New Moon's howlingly hot wolf pack in this morning's USA Today.
Missing in the pic is the leader of the pack, Taylor Lautner, who originated the role of Jacob in the first book and was previously rumored to be replaced in the follow-up film because he was too small. But if this peek at his pack is any proof, he's no doubt beefed up nicely for …

TweetVampire Diaries Scores A Fall Debut on the CW
Just last week, my writing partner, Meena, and I were chatting about how we should buy the rights to the Vampire Diaries — a tortured teen vamp saga that thrilled readers a full decade before Twilight was born.
Growing up in the 1990s, Meena and I both loved the books, and L.J. Smith’s other series, The Secret Circle, when we were in high school. And we’ve always meant to write something spooky and supernatural but fun, so this is an obvious fit. …

There’s got to be a reason why there are so many fans. There’s something else to it that people are really connecting with. So we were trying to find what that something else was.
So …

WHAT does a newly minted British movie star do when he hits New York?
He heads straight to Brooklyn to visit Bedford-Stuyvesant, apparently.
“I visited the Marcy projects this afternoon,” said Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen, the handsome vegetarian vampire in the film “Twilight,” which opens Nov. 21. “It was great. Nobody noticed me at all.”

The fact that the film’s soundtrack topped the Billboard record sales chart with $165,000 in its first week also proves promising for the film’s success.
“It’s not that unusual for a movie soundtrack to be No. 1,” said Blender magazine editor in chief Joe Levy. “What is unusual is for a soundtrack to open at No. 1 two weeks before the movie even comes out.”
“Usually people hear the music when they watch the film, then go buy …

While it’s hardly a new trend — remember “The Princess Diaries” and “Ella Enchanted”? — why is it booming now?
“There’s definitely a lot of spending power there that Hollywood is discovering,” Morgenstein said. “But like everything in Hollywood, it’s cyclical, it comes in waves. And right now, especially with teen girls, we’re in an upswing.”
If the upcoming slate of Hollywood films from teen books is any indicator — including “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” on Oct. 3, “The Secret Life …
